If you decided to do a reconstruction of the parquet and did not make a deal with the company or professional on how to prepare the room, no worries I will explain it to you.
Absolutely the best is when the room is completely tided up, so the whole floor is empty. I understand that to clear out the old style „furniture wall“(popular during the times of communism regime in our countries) is not an easy task to do. I would also think about if to let it on place or destroy it and throw it away. You have to consider the fact that if you will let it on the spot, it would be possible only to sand and paint the parquet only around the furniture, because you cannot move the furniture during the painting of the floor. The problem starts when you decide to move such a wall of old furniture in your apartment. By this act you will uncover the old not renovated parquet, which will probably not be very aesthetical.
I cannot not to react to this subjectbecause there is wider and wider price gap for sanding and painting of the floor on our market. From what I could find out there is the cheapest price for sanding and painting of the floor about 6,- € / m2 and the most expensive price I could found is 15,- € / m2. The price gap is more than 150%, isn’t that weird??? So let’s talk about this a little more.
This is a question I get from the customers often, so I will explain. Mostly the puttying of the parquet is done by the putty on dissolver basis, it has clear color, it is liquid and it mixes with the softest abrasive dust from the last sanding. An appropriately thick mass is made and then it’s poured on the floor and by wide putty-knife it is spread over the whole area and into all the small gaps. After that is the putty left to dry and the whole area of the parquet will be sanded with the band-abrasive machine so the leftover putty will be grinded and only one left will be that in the gaps.
