Not long ago I was on assembly of massive wood flooring, which is nothing special, but the overall composition of the floor was very uncommon. Therefore I would like to share this new experience with you.
On this project the design was a dry assemble of flooring with floor heating system. The whole assembly process looked like this. There was a wooden net on a cement-concrete under layer 3 cm thick and the wood net planks were anchored 60 cm from each other. In between these planks were heat-transmitting pipes on a special isolation layer. It was two pipes from one end to another where it was curved and coming back to beginning. It was repeated in between each of the wood plank of the net. On these heat-transmitting pipes were put an aluminum triangle shape covers, in which were made precisely for this purpose (there were small holes in the cover which made it possible to easily fasten it to the heat-transmitting pipes). The purpose of this aluminum molding is to accumulate the heat from floor heating system and transmit this heat to the wood flooring and after that to the house itself. The aluminum molding was fastened always a few millimeters higher than the wooden net. It was done like this because the aluminum molding should be in the immediate contact with the wood flooring to be able to transfer the heat most efficiently.
Manufacturer Quick Step came to the market with new flexible skirting that is meant mostly for skirting of the round walls or pillars in the interiors. This skirting is provided in white color only and you can paint the surface with any interior color products and so it can be in the color of your walls. This flexible skirting is available at every seller of the brand Quick Step and it is packed in rolls with length 7m.
Vinyl flooring has many practical advantages over the laminate and wood flooring. But everything has its advantages and also some disadvantages. From the feedback of my customers I see that the biggest disadvantage of vinyl flooring is that the dry-back vinyl used for gluing is inconvenient when it comes to preparing of the surface underneath it. So in this article we will look closer on the problem of preparing such surface.
Correctly prepared surface under dry-back vinyl must be perfectly narrow and smooth, because vinyl planks will copy every little difference. If you will forget a small sand grain you can be sure you will feel it in the end in a way of small bulge. Definitely never underestimate the perfect preparation of the surface. If you don’t trust your skills enough then let it to professionals.
Many of you encountered this problem for sure. I mean the cracks in the fry concrete layer. You want to narrow the concrete layer by the self-leveling compound but you worry that there would be copied cracks.
Rest assured there is a solution to that in the form of patching silicate resin UZIN KR 516. It is a two compound resin without any smell. It serves for fixing the cracks in the concrete surface. Surfaced fixed by this resin can be narrowed by self-leveling compound and in this way you have ready surface for the final flooring.
Fixing the concrete is made like this: first we need to grind furrows for metal buckles in the places of the cracks (with diamond disc). Make the furrows in upright position and circa 15cm from each other. Then we put special metal buckles in these furrows. In the end we pour them with the UZIN KR 516. After the pouring of all the cracks we can also put silicate sand on it, so it will be more tough bridge between the concrete layer and the self-leveling layer.
If you will make all the major cracks with this then I assure you that there will be no copied cracks on the self-leveling layer.
